At the end of August the first spinning training took place in the workshop of the newly founded weaver's association in Umden, Ri-Bhoi-District.

Andreas Möller trained 20 weavers and designers in the basic use of the new frame loom, The training took place on the Sericulture Farm in Nongpoh for four weeks. Ten Flying8 looms have been brought into the workshop of the Handloom Association. The first action was that each two participants completed the looms with shafts, pedals and heddles. After two weeks the looms have been ready for weaving and on Friday, 3rd February Andreas could weave the first wfts with one of the Flying8 looms....

The new year has started now and we start also our work in MEG again. In January the second training for weavers will take place in Nongpoh. Andreas Möller will teach for four weeks the women in using the Flying8 loom to produce high quality silk fabrics on it. In Shillong we will continuing the planning of the next steps this year. A Leipzig based designer, Catherine Allié, will be with us to discuss possibilities of designing simple but longlasting woman's clothes made of eri silk.

In June 2016 we came together in Shillong to create a plan for this project. This was the beginning of the activities to work in and for Meghalaya. In August the first step was done: The handweaver Andreas Möller from Hamburg started the training to build a Flying8 loom. It took place in Umden (Ri-Bhoi-District).
